As a little girl I loved to dance! A lot of people thought since I didn’t have “normal” legs there was no way I could dance. I quickly showed them they were wrong by dancing on my hands. Unfortunately as I got older my strength weakened. My strength weakened to the point I couldn’t dance on my hands anymore. I knew I would find a way to keep dancing. In 2007 I started a non-profit Organization called, “Groovability”. Groovability is an organization that brings movement to people who use wheelchairs. The first way Groovability brought movement to people who use wheelchairs was through Wheelchair Ballroom Dancing. This movement became such a part of my life that TLC did a documentary called, “Dancer With Tiny Legs”. If you saw this documentary you saw one of the best Zumba Instructors, Tony Witt, trying to become my next ballroom dance partner. Fortunately he did not become my dance partner, he became my Zumba Mentor. Because of Tony a passion ignited inside of me to help people who use wheelchairs to become fit. And as we all know what better way than through Zumba. My dream is to give everyone who uses a wheelchair the opportunity to, “Join the Party”, the Zumba Party!!!
Honored to make this video around 1:35.
